You do not need an account to purchase fixed-price items.
An account is required to place bids in auctions.
This requirement protects both buyers and studios by ensuring accountability for binding bids.
Timed Auctions
- All auctions have a clearly stated start and end time
- Countdown timers are visible on every auction listing
- Auctions do not end early unless clearly stated on the listing
Automatic Bid Extension
To keep bidding fair:
- If a bid is placed near the end of an auction, the auction may automatically extend
- This prevents last-second “sniping”
- All bidders have an equal opportunity to respond
Binding Bids
- All bids are binding
- If you win an auction, you are expected to complete payment
- Please bid only if you intend to purchase the item if you win
Failure to complete payment may result in bidding restrictions or account limitations.
Secure Checkout & Payments
- Payments are processed securely through Stripe or PayPal
- Checkout takes place on The Doll Studios platform
- Off-platform payments are not permitted, including:
- PayPal Friends & Family
- Direct invoices
- Private payment arrangements

Who Can Run Auctions
- Auctions are available to approved Professional Studios
- Studios control:
- Pricing strategy
- Reserve prices
- Timing
- Each auction must meet platform standards before going live
Reserve Prices & Buy-It-Now
Studios may choose to include:
- A reserve price (minimum acceptable sale price)
- A Buy-It-Now option that ends the auction immediately if purchased
All options are clearly displayed on the listing.
Auction Scheduling
- Auctions run for a defined duration
- End times may be staggered to improve visibility
- Similar items may not be scheduled to end simultaneously
Promotion & Visibility
Some auctions may receive:
- Homepage placement
- “Ending Soon” features
- Email or social promotion
Promotion is curated and not guaranteed.
After an Auction Ends
If the Item Sells
- Payment is processed automatically through the platform
- Marketplace fees are deducted before payout
- Funds are paid directly to the studio via their connected Stripe or PayPal account
The Doll Studios does not hold vendor funds.
If the Item Does Not Sell
- There are no penalties
- No relisting fees
Studios may choose to:
- Relist the item
- Convert it to Buy-It-Now
- Hold it for a future auction
Important Notes
- All sales terms are set by the selling studio
- Many auction items are final sale
- Studios are responsible for:
- Fulfillment
- Shipping
- Customer communication
- The Doll Studios does not mediate disputes

Authenticity & Marketplace Standards
The Doll Studios is committed to supporting legitimate artists, sculptors, and studios.
While vendors are reviewed during onboarding:
- Listings are created and managed by individual studios
- The Doll Studios cannot guarantee the authenticity of every item
- Any concerns regarding authenticity should be addressed directly with the studio
Confirmed violations may result in listing removal or platform removal.
